About Wild-Caught Fish
Started by enthusiasts with a genuine interest in fishing
Villfiske AS was founded by enthusiasts with a genuine interest in fishing, nature, and quality equipment. We know what a huge difference the right rod, reel, wobbler, or accessory can make – both for the experience and the result.
Our goal is to build an online store with products we would consider using ourselves, while also providing more explanation around the choices. Not just what a product is called or how much it costs, but how it can be used, what conditions it is suitable for, and why it might be the right thing to bring on a trip.
Smith at Villfiske
Japanese precision, explained for a Norwegian context
Smith is a Japanese manufacturer with roots going back to 1970, and for decades they have developed lures, wobblers, rods and other fishing gear with a focus on precision, function and practical use.
What we like about Smith is that many of their models have a clear idea behind them. A wobbler isn't just a wobbler – weight, balance, sink rate, action and response in the current can determine when and where it works best.
At Villfiske, we are building a specialized Norwegian selection of Smith products, with the aim of making the models easier to understand in Norwegian conditions. We want to explain the differences between the models, which situations they are suitable for, and how they can be used for trout, arctic char, sea trout, salmon, perch and other species where relevant.

For many, fishing begins long before they reach the water. They check the weather, water levels, season, colours, depth, and where the fish might be. This is part of the joy of the trip – and often what determines what they pack.
At Villfiske, we want to gather more of this knowledge about the products. We are also working on trips, videos, articles about water, and experiences with equipment we follow ourselves – so that the site doesn't just become a place to shop, but also a place to find inspiration before your next trip.
